Warzone 2 players think return of one-shot snipers to battle royale will be a “nightmare”

Infinity Ward and Raven Software recently announced that Warzone 2 Season 3 would see the return of one-shot sniper rifles to the battle royale. Although this reintroduction may be a welcome improvement to some, it seems that most within the community are worried about its possible play style implications due to the game’s current slow pace.

With the upcoming Warzone 2 update already set to give Resurgence a “massive” makeover, this latest enhancement may be the developer’s attempt to prevent a mass exodus once again. However, the early reactions from numerous fans so far doesn’t bode well for this latest change.

A large number of players commenting under a particular Reddit post have said that matches are “going to be relentlessly snipey now” once these deadly sniper rifles make their way into the game. With Al Mazrah containing several wide areas and open spaces, those equipped with these weapons will have the time of their lives camping these spots.

Fortunately, the power that these long-ranged firearms present does come with a caveat. Only sniper rifles attached with explosive ammunition will have the sought after one-shot capability. This means that the Intervention, the MCPR, and the Victus XMR are the few guns that can boast this kind of stopping power.

But even with this in mind, the community is still fairly worried at its inclusion in battle royale since it’ll make it even harder to roam around Al Mazrah without getting shot at by a camper. For this reason, many are asking the developers to increase the game’s pace in order to discourage operators from setting up shop at a specific spot.

Luckily, Warzone 2 Season 3 is also set to bring in improvements to movement and pacing, which could at least offset the power of these weapons. But only time will tell if these changes will indeed be enough to level the playing field between campers and aggressive players.
