The Outer Worlds 1.1.1.0 patch now lets players tweak the text size in the game for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions, as well as fixing a few big bugs (via GameSpot).
This feature came to the fore from fan feedback who expressed their annoyance at how tiny the text is. I can corroborate this; I spent the majority of my time gallivanting across the Halcyon colony sat cross-legged on the floor one foot from the TV. The Outer Worlds has excellent writing and what you say is equally as significant as what you do, and now players won’t be squinting to see that they’ve failed the speech check and everyone on the planet is going to kill them. Just another Wednesday on Monarch, it seems.
The new setting is under the user interface section and will increase the size of the conversation text, cinematic subtitles, bark subtitles, and terminal text. In addition, a big bug in Tartarus that caused continual crashing has been squished. Audio levels on the PlayStation 4 have been amplified, the Prismatic Hammer has been rebalanced, and the “It's Not the Best Choice” trophy and achievement will pop correctly, along with a collection of other fixes. Take-Two Interactive said that Obsidian Entertainment’s newest role-playing title is ‘exceeding our expectations and reviews have been outstanding’. I thought the game was well good, and I called it “a space opera with conscious themes and consequences, and no one clipped through the floor even once.” And, The Outer Worlds will be coming to the Nintendo Switch before the end of March 2020. Top stuff.
