Resident Evil Village has become one of the most popular recent titles in the history of Capcom’s storied franchise. Players will also be able to fully immerse themselves even more inside its horror-filled story through its planned VR mode.

The VR edition, previously announced back in June 2022, has received an official release date through a PlayStation blog post. Now that it’s been revealed, devoted followers of the series are asking the following question: when is the release date for Resident Evil Village VR? Here’s what we know.
When is the release date for Resident Evil Village VR?
Resident Evil Village VR is set to release on February 22, 2023 as a free DLC for the base game. This is based on a statement made by Kanda Tsuyoshi, the game’s producer at Capcom. Once the launch date arrives, you’ll immediately be able to download, play, and experience the game on your PlayStation VR2.
Once you get into the game, you will once again be placed in the shoes of the protagonist, Ethan Winters. This time, however, you’ll be closer than ever to the heart-racing scenes and spine-chilling encounters.
According to the PlayStation’s announcement, “the vivid graphics of the 4K HDR display (2000×2040 per eye) and eye tracking produces a heightened perception of reality as if everything you see is actually there.”
The integrated 3D audio also boosts the players immersion as in-game sounds are played from every angle. Player experience is further enhanced through the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers. These accessories let users feel every vibration, recoil, and resistance within the game’s world. The Sense controllers will also apparently enable intuitive movement, such as putting your hands up to block or raising your firearm to shoot.
With only a handful of weeks left until its arrival, players can now start preparing for the in-game jump scares waiting around every corner.
