With fans eager to dive into Destiny 2’s The Final Shape update early next year it looks like Paul McCartney’s musical inclusions to the Destiny universe might be making a return.
Taking to Reddit u/AtlyxMusic discovered that one of Bungie’s music orchestrators had posted the below picture to their Instagram. Notably, Feingold’s post refers to a ‘P.McCartney’ to which they confirmed in the post description, “Yeah that P.McCartney. That’s all I can say for now.”
McCartney, who is best known for his work as a member of The Beatles provided some of the melodies for the original Destiny game’s soundtrack alongside former Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell. While it’s highly unlikely McCartney is returning to the Bungie universe to contribute new music, his accreditation would suggest some of his previous compositions are set to be revised which players haven’t heard since the original game.
Destiny 2’s next big update, The Final Shape, is set to release in February 2024. Being the twelfth expansion to come to the Destiny franchise, The Final Shape is set to be the final content pack for The Light and Darkness Saga. Players are undoubtedly extremely excited about this and the possibility of McCartney’s work being revisited is sure to excite fans now and tickle their nostalgia when the expansion finally releases, should the music be included.
