MW2 Season 2 Reloaded has brought in several new features that have immediately made it one of the more appreciated updates in recent memory. However, the most popular inclusion that came with the latest patch is not the new map or the enjoyable game modes, but the addition of Black Screen Flashbangs.

With the arrival of the midseason update, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have decided to cook up a feature that players didn’t know they needed. Gone are the days when player screens would be constantly filled with blinding white light after getting flashed continuously. Once this feature is turned on, you’ll simply have to stare at your reflection for a few seconds instead of getting your retinas endlessly fried on Shipment.

This latest mechanic has become so well-liked that a large number of Reddit users are now celebrating its addition to the game. Multiple comments under a particularly popular post are mostly in agreement that this is a “major win” for the embattled developers. Some players on PC, however, have pointed out that this will just make them think that the game has crashed so it may take some getting used to.

Now that you’re aware of this latest creative addition to MW2, you may be wondering how you can turn it on for yourself. Not to worry, because we’re here to show you exactly how you can do that below.

How to turn on Black Screen Flashbang in MW2

To turn on the Black Screen Flashbang feature, you’ll simply need to follow these steps:

  • Launch MW2 and head to the in-game settings.
  • Locate and select the Interface category on the menu that appears.
  • Scroll all the way down until you find the Inverted Flash option.
  • Toggle it on and your retinas will now be saved.

This latest addition will surely help players in smaller maps, like Shipment, where flashbangs are consistently thrown. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make the KV Broadside any weaker so you will still have to struggle through that for the time being.
