Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 kicked things off with a bang after announcing the introduction of three hip-hop superstars to the game’s roster. However, it seems that Infinity Ward and Activision aren’t finished with their recent slew of mainstream crossovers as reports have now surfaced stating that iconic rap ad-libber Lil Jon will be gracing the current CoD installment with his presence in the near future.

Ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, pop culture skins are starting to come in at an alarming rate now as Activision attempts to capitalize on the last few months of MW2. According to a post created by notable CoD leaker MWIINTEL, the popular artist and producer, known for hits like Get Low and Turn Down for What, will allegedly “be appearing as [an] operator for Modern Warfare 2.”

Unfortunately, a release date for this surprising collaboration hasn’t exactly been provided yet as Activision and Infinity Ward are yet to confirm it themselves. With this in mind, you will need to take this information with the customary grain of salt as details on this crossover remains scarce.

Fan reaction to this revelation so far has been largely mixed as one user on Twitter claimed that Activision are “pandering to a certain demographic” with the continuous stream of mainstream skin releases. Some, on the other hand, are simply enjoying the new cosmetics being introduced, especially after the hip-hop triumvirate of Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, and 21 Savage were also added to the roster.

If this collaboration does end up coming true, it could eventually be launched as part of either Season 5 Reloaded or the launch of Season 6. You can expect the former to kick off towards the early portion of September while the latter will likely take place in late September/early October. While you wait for these dates to arrive, check out our guides on the Modern Warfare 3 weapons list, Modern Warfare 3 carry forward guide, and the Modern Warfare 3 reveal event start time.
