With Star Wars Jedi Survivor almost upon us, gamers everywhere are getting ready to get their hands on the next exciting entry in the Star Wars universe.

Following the success of the last entry, hopes are high for this sequel – and it promises to be bigger and better in everyway. Of course, with a bigger scope sequel the assumption is that it’ll require bigger hardware to run, so understandably many gamers are questioning whether the game will be a next-gen exclusive and only be playable on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Is Star Wars Jedi Survivor Next Gen Only?

Sadly, the answer to this question is yes. Star Wars Jedi Survivor will be exclusively available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC when it launches on April 28, 2023. Those who own an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will have to invest in one of the new consoles should they want to play this new entry.

It perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise though considering the technical struggles the first game had when it was released in 2019. Especially if this sequel is to be bigger, grander than before as we would expect, it would be incredibly difficult to get it to run on older hardware. 

This is becoming an increasingly common trend as we get deeper and deeper into the life of the next gen consoles, like every time console generation there comes a time when the previous gen is left behind. It looks like it is already starting to happen for PS4 and Xbox One.
