Final Fantasy 16 quickly became one of the most widely praised series installments at launch due to its gripping story, action-packed combat, and brilliantly curated soundtrack. But now that many RPG enthusiasts have already finished the game, some players are complaining that the game is too easy even without using the handful of accessibility options that Square Enix has made available within.

Based on a number of comments from a handful of Reddit users, it seems that the main reason for the game’s lack of difficulty is because of each enemy’s formulaic battle design. Barring the massive and cinematic Eikon vs. Eikon boss fights you play through, players have noted that most of the opponents you face in Final Fantasy 16 are often predictable enough that you can easily parry and dodge each of their attacks even without timing your moves perfectly.

The notion that Final Fantasy 16 is “ridiculously easy” has also started spreading through the streaming community as evidenced by LegionzGaming‘s recent Twitter post. According to their message, the biggest complaint they had about FFXVI is the fact that it doesn’t give you any difficulty options at the start of the game. The Twitch streamer would then go on to say that he’s “barely made any guides on the game” because there isn’t anything to make a guide about.

In addition, LegionzGaming’s post also included a short clip of YouTube content creator Maximilian Dood initially discussing Final Fantasy 16’s accessibility options. Although Maximilian Dood would start the video off by praising the new helpful features the developers have included, he would end up criticizing the game’s relative lack of difficulty by saying that “even without activating any of those accessibility options, the game is still piss easy.”

Unfortunately, with most players having already had the chance to finish the game, it might be a little too late for the developers to provide a difficulty fix that can satisfy those looking for a more challenging experience. Luckily, Final Fantasy 16’s other wonderful elements, like its amazing world building and Game of Thrones-esque plot, should surely be enough to make up for its combat design shortcomings.

If you’re having trouble with the gameplay, though, then we suggest checking out our guides on the best Final Fantasy 16 weapons and best Final Fantasy 16 abilities so you know which ones to acquire during your playthrough.
