EA Sports FC 24 sees FUT community prayers answered

The hype for EA’s new football game is building, with various deep dive and reveal trailers pathing the way to its release. We’ve just seen the trailer and pitch notes for FC 24 Ultimate Team and there is plenty for the FUT community to celebrate!

This article isn’t looking at the sweeping changes introduced, such as Evolutions and women’s football in FUT, but rather, some quality-of-life changes announced from community feedback. Check out the little things that will make your EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team experience better than ever!

Squad Battles Half Length

Possibly the most-requested change for FC 24 FUT is a change to half lengths in Squad Battles. Players often want to speed through objective requirements in the mode against a low-level CPU opponent, but the six-minute half-length makes it a real slog! Thankfully, the loud cries for change have been heard by EA, with Squad Battles now cut down to a four-minute half. It’s not the three minutes some had hoped for, but it’s definitely better than it was!

Claim All

Introducing a claim all option for rewards is such a small thing, it’s amazing it wasn’t already in the game! Having to go onto each individual task and claim the reward just takes up time you’d prefer to be actually playing the game. Now, clicking L3 will hoover up all the group rewards at once!

Duplicate Swapping

When you open a large pack, you are frequently left with a load of untradeable duplicate items to get rid of. In the past, you would have to check through each item separately to find out if you had a tradeable version in your club that you could swap it with. Well, those times are no more! In FC 24 FUT you will be able to swap them in bulk with tradeable items in your club.

Hide Loan Players

Loan player items can often clog up your club, but you don’t always want to get rid of them. This can make completing SBCs annoying, as you have to search through unusable cards until you find regular versions to trade in. This has led to another awesome new change that should have come sooner. Loan player items will now be hidden when squad building in SBCs!

No Position Modifiers

Finally, Position Modifiers have been removed! A generic Position Modifier item was introduced in FIFA 23 with the revamped chemistry system, however, they seemed to be a pretty unnecessary addition, with no value due to their abundance in the game. The consumables are gone in FC 24 FUT, with players automatically gaining chemistry when moved to one of their Primary and Alternative Positions. This will also happen in SBCs and FUT Draft, making squad building easier than ever and providing more opportunities to use players in Draft.
