The latest trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been released by Ubisoft and it gave viewers a hint at the key elements that will separate this game from the rest of its counterparts. Based on what was shown, it seems that Basim, the protagonist, will be faced with a few important decisions throughout his story, which may eventually shape the outcome of the game.
Aside from the possible inclusion of plot-defining choices, however, the preview also exhibited plenty of the iconic stealth combat that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has become known for. A few pickpocketing scenes were also put on display, which indicates that Mirage will give players the full Assassin experience that the initial series installments made popular.
Since its initial announcement, the AC community has long known that Mirage would mainly be taking place in the arid environment of Baghdad. With this in mind, a large portion of the game’s setting was naturally shown throughout the preview clip and it predictably contained several climbable buildings and towers that you could eagle-dive off of.
It’s currently unclear, though, what the story is going to be about apart from the fact that it’s a “coming-of-age story” that follows Basim Ibn Ishaq. However, a few key gameplay elements were unsurprisingly hinted at in the video that will apparently allow you to settle disputes without having to impale someone with your hidden blade.
The particular scene in question involves one of Basim’s companions suggesting to the protagonist that he bribe the guards instead so that they would “look the other way.” Of course, this method may only work to a certain extent as the recognizable combat design of Assassin’s Creed still reigns supreme in Mirage.
The gameplay trailer has also confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date is going to be on October 12, so you’ll have to wait until the latter part of the year to get your hands on the upcoming stealth adventure.
