The Starfield Volii system is a bit of a mystery at the moment, yet early signs indicate it’s going to have a significant role to play in Bethesda’s upcoming space adventure RPG. We don’t know entirely what to expect, but some early hints have given us at least a partial picture of why this unassuming system is going to attract so much attention.
Let’s go over everything we know so far about the Starfield Volii system, and why it could be on par with the likes of Alpha Centauri, Jemison, the Sol System, Cheyenne, and Akila City.
All locations in Volii
While not definitively confirmed, here are the locations we know about or expect to see in the Volii system:
- Volii Alpha
- The Volii Hotel
- Neon City
Let’s cover what we know so far about each one.
Volii Alpha
Volii Alpha is currently the only confirmed planet in the Starfield Volii system. We don’t know whether it’s barren and ripe for building a Starfield outpost or populated. However, best guesses currently suggest that Volii Alpha is the likely home of the pleasure city of Neon. If this is the case, then Volii Alpha likely hosts a considerable amount of water, and may even be an ocean world.
The Volii Hotel
Spotted briefly as an icon during a showcase for the game, The Volii Hotel is the only officially confirmed location of interest in the system so far. It’s speculated to be a rest stop for space-faring travellers. The name also suggests it might be the only one of its kind in the system, or at least the largest. This could make the Volii hotel a strong candidate for finding and hiring Starfield crew members.
Neon City
Neon City is described as a pleasure city, offering unique experiences to clients and visitors. It was originally used as a fishing platform until the Xenofresh Corporation faction that built it discovered that the fish held mind-altering properties and started farming them to manufacture the drug Aurora.
We know that these days, though Volii seems to fall into the territory of the Starfield Freestar Collective faction, Neon City is the home base to the Ryujin Industries faction, a megacorporation. This suggests a lot of power plays are perhaps at work within the system, and it could likely be a hub for all sorts of clandestine activities.
We don’t know if the Xenofresh Corporation are still around on Neon, but even if they’re not, it’s possible they’ve got a presence somewhere else in the Volii system. All this should be taken with a grain of salt though, as it isn’t confirmed that Neon City is found in the Volii system yet.
That’s everything we know so far about the Starfield Volii system. If the rumours are true, then this could be a prime place to earn Starfield credits, or might even be relevant to the main Starfield Story and plot. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as we learn more.
