Starfield Cheyenne guide

Curious why the Starfield Cheyenne system is so important? There are a truly colossal number of star systems in Bethesda Game Studios’ upcoming sci-fi RPG, but some are more important than others.

We’ll go over why the Starfield Cheyenne system is a major location, and what you can expect to find there when you visit. We don’t know everything there is to know about this system just yet, but as we near the Starfield release date, we’ll make sure to keep this guide up to date.

What’s in the Cheyenne system?

Despite knowing that it’s going to be an important location, we don’t yet know very much about the layout of the system, or what to expect there. The two things we do know are that it houses the planet Akila, and that at least two powerful Starfield factions have a presence there.

Akila

Akila is currently the only confirmed planet we know of in the Cheyenne system. But don’t think that means it isn’t important. On the contrary, Akila is home to Akila City, the capital of the second largest faction in-game, the Freestar Collective faction.

The Freestar Collective are a group based on ideals of personal freedom, and fill the space cowboy aesthetic nicely. They’ll be a powerful force in this system, and their capital currently looks to be second only to New Atlantis in size. We also know that you’ll be able to find a few different Starfield companions and Starfield crew members here, and that it’ll be a place to pick up missions if you’re short on Starfield credits.

Cheyenne factions

As mentioned, the Freestar Collective are the main presence in this star system, but not the only one, it seems. From what little we’ve gleaned out of star maps in various trailers and showcases, the Crimson Fleet faction also have a foothold in Cheyenne.

The Crimson Fleet are space pirates, and their presence in the heart of the Freestar Collective’s territory suggest a volatile state of affairs is at play in the system. Though there’s no guarantee, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this conflict play a central role in the narrative when you visit the system during the main Starfield story.
