Want to discover Starfield Akila City? Located on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne system, Akila City is one of many cities you’ll explore in the space exploration RPG Starfield. Bethesda’s grand space title has over a thousand planets to explore, but few of them can match the detail of Akila City.

Cities have factions of all kinds contesting for power and fueling their beliefs. Some notable ones are the United Colonies and the Crimson Fleet.

What is Akila City in Starfield?

Akila City makes itself known as a home for the free, for individuals who value their ability to make decisions at will. This municipality was founded by Solomon Coe in 2167 – 163 years before you show up in Starfield. Akila City in Starfield is the capital of one of the major Starfield factions: the Freestar Collective. This political faction is a loose confederation that consists of three distinct star systems. And they house people from all walks of life. The Freestar Collective fought the United Colonies for independence during the great Colony War of 2310.

This image, featured prominently in the Xbox and Bethesda title’s marketing, showcases some of the landmarks you can expect from Akila City. The Hitching seems like a tavern where information could spill over a couple of drinks with a variety of people. The Shepherd’s General Store could let you outfit your character or robot companion with all kinds of gear.

And Rowland Arms could get you up to speed with the region’s weaponry and its residents. The city’s inhabitants seem interesting with murky pasts and potential redemption arcs. The region gives me strong Tatooine vibes from Star Wars and the concept art alone makes the PC and Xbox Series X game exciting.

Despite being known as a city that adores freedom, Akila City is walled from intruders. This is because they are vulnerable to raids from the Ashta. They are predators that supposedly look like a mix between a wolf and a velociraptor. We’ll definitely get to fight these beings in Starfield but the walls should keep you safe. This could potentially have you interacting with one of Freestar’s rangers. The following image from the Xbox showcase offers a glimpse of a potential stuffed Ashta.
