Wondering when is the next Double XP weekend in MW2 and Warzone 2? Infinity Ward and Raven Software closed the book on another successful Double XP weekend in Modern Warfare 2 not too long ago. But players are already wondering when the next one is coming.

On the slim chance that you’re not familiar or are reading this for the first time, a Double XP Weekend is exactly as it sounds. For the duration, players will earn twice the normal amount of XP they’d otherwise earn in the game – for Weapons, Player Rank and even the Battle Pass. They’re highly sought after events.

When Is The Next Double XP Weekend In Warzone?

The next Double XP weekend will take place on August 17 from 9:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM BST. According to Activision’s official blog post, the event will begin before the Modern Warfare 3 reveal event start time. Called the Shadow Siege event, this will give players a better idea of what to expect in the next entry. It’s currently unclear when this Double XP weekend will conclude. However, it will likely end on August 21, 2023 at the same time as it began, much like previous XP boosting events.

As for the next, the schedule for Double XP weekends has been fairly reliable, in so far as having one every half-season. Therefore, we’d expect the next one to drop around the launch of Season 5 Reloaded, although a specific date for that has not yet been set. We do know, however, that Season 5 in-game is advertised to run until late September. Therefore we predict the mid-season update will likely arrive around the first few weeks of the same month.

When was the last Double XP Weekend in Warzone?

A mini Double XP weekend was the last event to take place. Rather than a full weekend-long event, A 24-hour Double XP period has just ended in MW2 and Warzone, taking place on July 7 at 10 AM PT

The news of this bonus Double XP event came via a post from CoD news aggregator CharlieIntel, the current experience-boosting event ran from July 7 until July 8 at 10 AM PT, meaning players had just 24 hours to capitalize on the in-game promo. The event came a few weeks following the launch of MW2 and Warzone Season 4.

Prior to this latest event, the last full Double XP weekend kicked off first for PlayStation users from June 22 at 10am PT/6PM BST. Then, PC and Xbox players got to join in the fun from June 23 at 10am PT/6PM BST. The event ran until June 26 at 10am PT/6pm BST.

How to redeem Double XP Tokens in Warzone

One way is part of the game’s Vault Edition. You can even earn some just by playing the game’s campaign.

First off, make sure you’ve redeemed your codes to get your Double XP tokens. There’s multiple ways to do this, and they depend on how you earned your tokens.

If you got them from playing the campaign, you need to do very little as they should already be tied to your account in multiplayer. Obviously, make sure you are using the same one you completed the campaign with.

With DMZ now launched, you can now earn double XP tokens through doing specific DMZ missions as prior to exiting the mode. Of course, the battle pass will have XP tokens up for grabs all throughout the pass too.

How to activate Double XP Tokens in Warzone

If it’s an external promo, such as Burger King or Mountain Dew, these usually have their own bespoke URL to redeem your code. But more often than not these will redirect to some form of redeem page on the Call of Duty website.

Using Double XP tokens in MW2’s multiplayer is very straightforward. First, you just need to be in the multiplayer lobby.

Once there, you should see – next to the button to customise your loadout – a button for XP Tokens. Head into there, and simply activate your token.

Typically tokens count down from when you activate them – regardless of whether you’re in a game or not. So to maximize your time, make sure you actually intend to play for the duration of the token.
