Which NFL franchises have the best Madden 24 team ratings? The 2022 NFL season came with plenty of excitement and surprises, with a variety of new teams highlighting their strength and toughness from start to finish. Though this was most evident from the 2022 NFC Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. But others such as the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Seattle Seahawks also illustrated just how much they’ve improved and how dangerous they can be.

As many of you know, the Madden 24 release date is steadily approaching. In the build up to the game’s release, EA Sports has revealed the player and team ratings for this season. But of all the NFL teams, who made Top 10 this year in Madden 24?

Madden 24 Team Ratings

Here is the Madden 24 Top 10 Team Ratings:

TeamRating
Kansas City Chiefs92
Philadelphia Eagles91
Buffalo Bills90
Cincinnati Bengals89
Dallas Cowboys88
Baltimore Ravens87
Cleveland Browns87
San Francisco 49ers86
Miami Dolphins86
Los Angeles Chargers85

For some of you looking over this list, it’s crucial to keep in mind that overall team ratings are directly tied to the player ratings each team is made up of. So if you’re surprised to see the Cowboys with an 88 overall rating despite them enduring an early exit in the playoffs last season, it’s because they have some positions and players that come baring 90+ overall ratings, if not, high 80s.

In Madden 23, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the best team with a 92 overall rating. However, with the departure of legendary quarterback Tom Brady, who was a 97 overall at launch last year, the Buccaneers did not make the cut for the Top 10 in Madden 24. Same goes for the Green Bay Packers, who lost Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, and the Los Angeles Rams, who lost star cornerback Jalen Ramsey over free agency as well.

So on that very note, let’s dive right into the analysis and have a look at why some of the teams from above that made the Top 10 list in Madden 24.

Kansas City Chiefs – 92 overall

Although the Super Bowl Winning team from the season prior is usually a favorite for the best team spot in Madden, it comes to a bit of a surprise that the Chiefs are this high up. Although Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are in the 99 Club, certain positions contain predominantly 70+ overall players, making it a bit head scratching as to why they received the best overall rating. This can be seen firsthand with their wide receivers and running backs. Aside from Isiah Pacheco and Kadarius Toney, everyone else is in the 70s, from Skyy Moore to Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Even on the defensive front, the Chiefs have plenty of players that fell under the 80 overall threshold. That said, Madden 24 gave the Chiefs enough 90+ overall studs and a well-balanced group of talent across the board, leading them to become the best team in Madden 24.

Philadelphia Eagles – 91 overall

Despite coming up short in the Super Bowl last season, the Philadelphia Eagles deserve to be the second best team in Madden 24, and for a handful of reasons. For starters, the Eagles went 14-3 last season and looked frankly unstoppable at times with the team they had. The good news for this team is that not only did most of their star players stay, but for the two that didn’t, the Eagles found viable replacements to fill their shoes. For example, star running back Miles Sanders signed with the Carolina Panthers, so the Eagles went out and traded for running back DeAndre Swift. Same goes for former DT Javon Hargrave – he signed with the 49ers so the Eagles drafted Jalen Carter with the ninth overall pick in the 2023 Draft. In short, watch out for those Eagles in Madden 24.

Buffalo Bills – 90 overall

Madden 24 cover athlete and quarterback Josh Allen leads the Bills offense, so it is hardly surprising to see them right up near the top of the team rankings. In Stefon Diggs the Bills have one of the game’s best wide receivers too, so it is a dual threat with the passing game. On defense the Bills keep it tight too. Von Miller is a three-time 99 club member, while Safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde both rank among the best around in their specific positions. Cornerback Tre’Davious White has a 90 overall rating and will solid in man to man coverage.

Cincinnati Bengals – 89 overall

Another top class quarterback x wide receiver duo is Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase for the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players boast ratings above 90 OVR, but it doesn’t end there. Superstar Joe Mixon is among the top running backs in the NFL, giving balance to the Bengals offense. Chase is not the only passing target either with Tee Higgins available as a more physical option. The Bengals are slightly weaker on defense, although D.J. Reader and Trey Hendrickson provide a solid starting point for anyone trying to build a great defense in Cincinnati.

Dallas Cowboys – 88 overall

For those of you wondering ‘why are the Cowboys so high up’, it’s mainly due to not only how well the Cowboys played last year, but also what they did over free agency to make their team even better. After going 12-5 last season, the Cowboys were eliminated from the playoffs once again, and felt that more talent was needed on both sides of the ball. On the offensive front, the Cowboys signed wide receiver Brandin Cooks, an elite deep-threat that’s proven he can thrive anywhere. And on defense, they signed the former 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Winner, Stephon Gilmore. Despite finding ways to struggle in the playoffs, the Cowboys have a great team on paper and will be fun to play with in Madden 24.

Baltimore Ravens – 87 overall

The Baltimore Ravens are a strong team on defense, and with former Madden NFL cover star Lamar Jackson leading the offense at quarterback, they always have a chance. Tight End Mark Andrews will be Jackson’s primary target in Madden 25 as he boasts a 95 overall rating. The Ravens have six players rated 90 overall or higher in their roster, inclduing kicker Justin Tucker. On defense, cornerback Marlon Humphrey leads the team with a 93 overall rating, followed by Roquan Smith and Ronnie Stanley.

Cleveland Browns – 87 overall

The team that went 7-10 last season receives an 87 overall rating? Yeah, and understandably so. For starters, the Browns have a very well-balanced offense, starting first and foremost with the best Madden 24 RB in Nick Chubb who’s a 97 overall. But the high ratings don’t stop there – left guard Joel Bitonio is a 92 overall, Amari Cooper is a 91, and tight end David Njoku is an 84. In addition, the Browns are not only home to one of the best edge rushers in the league in Myles Garrett (98 overall), but they also signed veteran pass rusher Za’Darius Smith, and Madden 24 made him an 85 overall this year. This is not to mention that their star cornerback Denzel Ward is 88 overall, rounding out a strong team with some excellent playmakers.

San Francisco 49ers – 86 overall

Defense wins champions, right? Nick Bosa (98 overall) is one of the best in the business when it comes to getting to the quarterback. Middle Linebacker Fred Warner (96 overall) is also one of the most reliable men to have lined up on defense. In possession, Tight End George Kittle, Running Back Christian McCaffrey, and Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel offer plentiful options. The 49ers are not so strong in the QB position with Brock Purdy as their starter, but with Trent Williams (98 overall) out in front he should be afforded some decent protection. Signing a new QB will be vital in Franchise Mode this season.

Miami Dolphins – 86 overall

Although some might think this is a bit low for the new and dangerous looking Dolphins, the 86 overall rating is a good one for the young team. With Tyreek Hill (98 overall) and Jalen Ramsey (97 overall) leading the charge with the two best ratings for the Dolphins, they still have a handful of key stars that also come with good overall ratings. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is an 88 overall, while edge rusher Christian Wilkins received an 86 overall and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa an 83 overall. But what knocks the Dolphins so hard is certain position groups lacking more than two 80+ overall players such as the offensive line and their group of safeties. The Dolphins have potential but certainly don’t have the deepest cast of star talent, which is why the 86 overall is a fitting one for them to have on launch.

Los Angeles Chargers – 85 overall

Los Angeles Chargers may not boast the best individual talent, but they have threats all over the field. Strong Safety Derwin James Jr is their highest-rated player in Madden 24 with a 95 overall. Joey Bosa follows on with a 91 overall rating. On offense, the Chargers possess plenty of targets that makes them difficult to pin down. QB Justin Herbert (87 overall) is plenty good enough to lead the team. With WR targets like Keenan Allen (89 overall) and Mike Williams (88 overall), you won’t be short of options. If the passing game isn’t working, 89-rated running back Austin Ekeler provides a strong running game option.
