Which star NFL receiving and blocking talents hold the best Madden 24 TE ratings? Wide receivers tend to be the more athletic, faster, and prioritized receiving options on offense in the NFL since that’s their designated role. But as a result, it’s easy to forget about how important tight ends are in football, not just as receivers but also as blockers too.

As the Madden 24 release date ever gradually approaches, fans are growing more and more eager to see what the game has to offer, including its new player ratings. This week has been a special one for Madden 24, home to several player rating reveals, and tight ends and cornerbacks were the latest to go live. But who cracked the Top 20 this year for Madden 24? Although he was 98 overall last year in Madden 23 upon launch, it doesn’t come to the surprise of many that Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce became the latest member of the 99 Club and number one tight end. Everyone knows that the leader and biggest game changer of the Chiefs offense is quarterback Patrick Mahomes. But what would he be without his legendary tight end, who’s had seven consecutive 1,000+ receiving yard seasons and three different campaigns with double digit touchdown figures.

But Kelce wasn’t the only tight end star to claim a 90+ overall spot. This year, Madden 24 has a new 4th place winner but did keep their 90+ players to only four just like they did in Madden 23. Although the tight end position isn’t a deep one, there’s several low key 80+ overall players that made the Top 10 that could be cornerstone pieces with the teams you build in Franchise Mode.

Travis Kelce – 99 overall

The man needs no introduction. For Kansas City star tight end Travis Kelce, it’s about cementing his legacy as one of the best tight ends to ever play in the NFL. Kelce has now become a member of the 99 Club for a record four times in Madden history, an achievement that is most certainly well-earned following his second Super Bowl title and a career season. In 17 games played over the 2022 regular season, Kelce had a career high 110 receptions, 1,338 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns (also a career high). Kelce is easily the best tight end in the NFL, and his 99 overall achievement is one that is simply justified.

Mark Andrews – 95 overall

Although Ravens tight end Mark Andrews missed out on the second place spot, he’s a close third and rightly so. The star tight end has been named to the Pro Bowl in his last two seasons and was selected First Team All-Pro in 2021, illustrating how special he really is. Following a breakout season in 2021, Andrews fell off a bit in 2022, but nonetheless, still showcased how productive he can be at only age 27. In 15 games played, Andrews had 73 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Ravens clinch a playoff berth.

T.J. Hockenson – 90 overall

Despite having to deal with a mid-season transition upon being traded from the Lions to the Vikings, Hockenson still maintained his productivity and deserves to be in the 90+ overall category. In 17 games played, Hockenson hit a handful of new career highs, including in receptions (86), receiving yards (914), and matched his career high in receiving touchdowns (6) as well. In Year 2 with Kirk Cousins and company on that Vikings offense, expect Hockenson to grown into his talent and take his game to the next level.

Kyle Pitts – 87 overall

The young third-year Falcons tight end didn’t have the best of sophomore seasons due to tearing his MCL over Week 11. So following a rookie season where he caught 68 passes for 1,026 yards and a touchdown in 17 games played, Pitts ended up reeling in just 28 receptions for 356 yards and two touchdowns. However, at the very young age of 22, Pitts has loads of potential to be great in the NFL and also produce a big bounce back season in 2023. And considering how athletic the former fourth overall 2021 first round Draft pick is, it’s fair that Madden made him an 87 overall this year.

Darren Waller – 86 overall

Following two great seasons in 2019 and 2020, Waller hasn’t been the same since, which makes his drop from 91 last year in Madden 23 to 86 this year in Madden 24 certainly understandable. However, Waller’s decline has been mainly due to injuries that have limited his ability to stay on the field, and not due to his skill set and talent as a whole. In 2021, Waller only played in 11 games due to dealing with a knee injury, and in 2022, only appeared in 9 games and was limited most of the season due to a hamstring injury. Now that he’s on the Giants, the 30-year-old Waller will look to revive his career and still has all the skills to be one of the best tight ends in the NFL. But making him a 86 to start is fitting seeing how much potential he still has.
