Whether you prefer the classic Battle Royale mode or Zero Build, Fortnite Chapter 4 offers very smooth gameplay. The experience has been completely overhauled thanks to a number of new mechanics. The ones that directly affect gameplay, like Reality Augments, are especially great.
What about simple movements? We are already used to movements such as climbing, sprinting or sliding. Mantle, on the other hand, isn’t new but it completely changes the gameplay. Especially in Zero Build mode.
How to Mantle in Fortnite?
Before learning how to mantle, you need to understand what it is – or what does mantling mean in Fortnite.
Mantling is a movement mechanic that you may have seen in many games before. It means using your character to hold on to any physical ledges you can think of, especially buildings, and pull yourself up.

Before this mechanic, you had to use your building skills or jump straight over the heights to climb in Fortnite. But now you can climb any rooftops or ledges within jump range, especially gas stations.
So how to mantle in Fortnite? There are two methods you can use for this. You can either spam the jump button or hold the button down after jumping to the ledge you want to grab.
Mantling was first added to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 2. While the Battle Royale map was not quite ready for this mechanic back then, it is now. At almost every point on the new map in Chapter 4, you can grab onto a ledge and pull up.

It will help you sprint first to hold on to the buildings and mantle easier. Even if you have to fight in a multi-level location like The Citadel or Brutal Bastion, mantle allows you to move very fluidly.
What you have to keep in mind about the mantle in Fortnite is that if you fail, you are likely to take damage, especially if you jump from a high place because you fall from a great height.

Finally, we know that Epic Games occasionally releases some challenges that require you to use this movement mechanic. For example, in previous seasons they released tasks like “mantle 5 times in 5 seconds’ or “damage an opponent within 10 seconds of mantling”. These are not part of the current weekly Fortnite quests, but still try to master this mechanic.
