Wondering how long is Diablo 4, Blizzard’s latest foray into the bleak and broody open world of Sanctuary? With Diablo 3 offering hundreds of hours of gameplay for completionist courtesy of countless dungeons and two hefty expansions, it’s reasonable to want a sense of what it will take to blaze everything Blizzard has conjured up for the campaign of Diablo 4.

We’ll break down the Diablo 4 time to beat. If you’ve already started your adventure and need a helping hand to hit the ground running in the first zone, check out all the Diablo 4 Fractured Peaks Waypoint locations and the Diablo 4 Silent Chest locations.

Diablo 4 story length

Based on our time playing Diablo 4, the main story will take the average player roughly 20 hours or so to complete. This number is contingent on you only focusing on the main quests with very little in the way of exploration, side quests, dungeons, and other optional activities. The hour count may fluctuate a little depending on your playstyle, class choice, world tier, and how familiar you are with the Diablo series, but don’t expect to sink any more than 25-30 hours to reach the epilogue.

Diablo 4 100% completion length

If you’re looking to scratch that completionist itch and experience everything Diablo 4 has to offer, then expect to sink anywhere from 50 hours upwards. The game features a glut of side content such as dungeons, side quests, events, Altars of Lilith, shrines, regions, basements, strongholds, waypoints, and much much more to complement the comparatively short story.

The amount of time these will take to beat depends on much of the game you want to cover and whether or not you plan to dabble with post-game content, which is when most seasoned players agree is when Diablo really opens up. You could spend all day wandering this giant map taking hunting for secrets and slaying every monster you see. We also have to factor in season and expansion Blizzard has already confirmed are on the way, so we can easily see total, 100% playtime swell to 400 hours, if not more.

There’s already plenty of endgame content to sink your teeth into once you’ve beaten the story, with the option to take on a World Boss or dip your toes into PvP, delve into some Nightmare Dungeons or simply aim for the level cap. Our Diablo 4 post game guide goes into more depth on what you could get up to once the story campaign is done and dusted.
