When can we expect the Genshin Impact 4.1 banner release date? Drip marketing for the new Genshin Impact characters Wriothesley and Neuvillette has begun in earnest. As one of the many upcoming new characters coming later with the Fontaine update, Wriothesley and Neuvillette will possibly be released in patch 4.1.
At the moment, HoYoverse has not revealed what star-rarity Wriothesley will be. With the Genshin Impact 4.0 release, we’ve seen Neuvillette in action during the latest Archon Quest. Since he plays such a crucial role, it stands to reason that Neuvillette is a five-star character, possibly with a Hydro vision. We know Wriothesley will also be a Cryo character, who might also be a five-star. It isn’t confirmed, but these two characters could be two new five-stars leading both phases in Genshin Impact 4.1. The Genshin Impact 4.0 banners introduced Lyney and Lynette.
Wriothesley and Neuvillette banner release speculation
The Genshin Impact Twitter officially revealed Wriothesley and Neuvillette, alongside images on the official Instagram account on August 14, 2023, showing their splash art and giving some background information about the characters. At the moment, there is no concrete date set by Hoyoverse. However, several leaks have been flooding the internet and predict that Neuvillette and Wriothesley will be available during the 4.1 update, but a date won’t be confirmed until we know which banner phases they will appear in. If we had to guess, we would assume Neuvillette will be in the first phase banner, followed by Wriothesley.
Going off of the history of Hoyoverse, the characters they show during these drip marketing releases are teasing characters who will be playable in the next update or the one after it.
Looking at the typical release schedule for Genshin Impact in the past, we can assume that update 4.1 will go live before the game’s third anniversary this year. Both Neuvillette and Wriothesley could either be released on one of these two dates:
- Phase one – September 27, 2023
- Phase two – October 18, 2023
According to leaks and Hoyoverse’s drip marketing, it seems likely to expect Wriothesley and Neuvillette to lead the banners in update 4.1. Due to the typical length of each Genshin update, 4.1 will begin six weeks after the previous update, which gives us the rough timeline above.
Not much is known about Wriothesley, but we have seen him in the Overture teaser trailer released by Hoyoverse showing off areas and other locations in and around Fontaine, along with another character called Sigewinne. Other leaks point towards Wriothesley being a catalyst user, making him the very first male Cryo catalyst user in Genshin Impact.
Neuvillette, on the other hand, is someone we encounter in the 4.0 Archon Quest. He’s the chief justice of Fontaine and not someone you want to mess with. While his element hasn’t officially been confirmed, it is a safe assumption that he will use the power of Hydro, being so closely involved with Furina, the Hydro Archon. With that said, he has no visible Vision on him, which is certainly curious in the world of Genshin.
