Genshin Impact Lyney Ascension materials, can be farmed around Fontaine. Lyney, the five-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact, was released alongside the launch of patch 4.0.

Lyney’s kit is geared towards his powerful charged shots and Elemental Skill. With that in mind, if you take the time to Ascend Lyney you will have one strong DPS unit on your team. He performs better with other Pyro characters, so bear that in mind if you want to his him.

Genshin Impact Lyney Ascension materials

As with all characters in Genshin, Lyney follows the same level-up and Ascension path and methods. You will always need Mora, a local speciality, and a boss material you get from a specific World Boss. You will need all of these things below to get Lyney to level 90, but we generally think 80 is an excellent stopping point if you don’t want to grind anymore.

Where to find Emperor’s Resolution

The World Boss you need to beat to get Lyney’s Ascension material is called the Empreror of Fire and Iron. This is a new boss introduced in Fontaine and it is a large crab enemy. You can find it in an underwater cave in Fontaine, reachable near the start of the Elton Trench, and to the left of the Belleau Region.

Fight the boss and claim the reward at the flower to get the materials you need. Depending on your World Level, you will get between one and three Emperor’s Resolution items per kill. The higher your World Level, the more likely you are to get two to three per fight. You also need 40 Original Resin to claim the reward.

Where to find Recruit’s Insignia

The Recruit, Sergeant, and Lieutenant Insignias are the materials dropped by most Fatui enemies you come across, the most typical being Fatui Skirmishers, Fatui Cicin Mages, and Fatui Pyro Agents.

The insignia comes in three rarities like most monster materials, the first is the Recruit, then the Sergeant, and then the Lieutenant Insignia is the rarest drop. Again, the higher your World Level, the more likely you are to get more of these materials from the Fatui you defeat.

Where to find Rainbow Roses

As a new local speciality exclusive to Fontaine, the Rainbow Roses can be found in, you guessed it, Fontaine. They seem to appear in most places above ground in Fontaine, specifically the Belleau Region and Beryl Region, and some are outside Fontaine’s courthouse. Gather as many of these as you can and you will be able to Ascend Lyney in no time.

If you’re ever short on materials and the nodes in your world haven’t respawned, you can always jump into another person’s world through multiplayer and ask nicely if you can farm materials there.

Lyney’s Talent Materials

Before you begin levelling Talents, you should make sure you’ve Ascended Lyney to level 80 or 90. At level 80 you can get all your Talents to level eight while being at level 90 will let you upgrade them to 10, which is the maximum rank.

Every character has three main talents they can level: their Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst. Starting at Talent level 6, you will need a specific material that is dropped from one of the weekly bosses in the Trounce Domains. Here are all the materials you’ll need to level one Talent to level ten.

Bear in mind, once again, that the information above is what you will need to raise one of the three Talents to level 10. If you want to do all three Talents to level 10, also known as triple crowning a character, you will need three times these materials.

To level a Talent to level 10, you also need a special item called a Crown of Insight. These are given as rewards from events and from the various Trees you can level throughout the world, such as the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine, the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru, and the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma. As you can see from our table above, levelling Talents doesn’t come cheap.

Where to find Primordial Greenbloom

The weekly boss drop you need to farm for Lyney for his Talents come from the Realm of Beginnings Trounce Domain in the Sumeru Desert. This Trounce Domain can only be challenged after you complete the second story quest tied to Nahida, which means you need to progress through the Sumeru Archon Quest and unlock the second desert area in Sumeru.

This fight puts you against the Dendro dragon Apep. You can collect from this Trounce Domain once per week for the cost of 30 Original Resin or 60 Original Resin, depending on if you’ve used your reduced collection bonus for the week.

Lyney’s Talent Books, the Teachings of Equity, can be farmed from the Pale Forgotten Glory Domain in Fontaine. Teachings of Equity can only be farmed on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. Sometimes, these Talent Books can be obtained from the Battle Pass and as a reward for any in-game Events that might take place in Fontaine, as well as from chests.

Where To Find Agnidus Agate Crystals

As a Pyro user, Lyney needs Agnidus Agate crystals to ascend and level up. Typically, these crystals are dropped by World Bosses who are aligned to Pyro. The following bosses will drop Agnidus Agate crystals:

• Pyro Regisvine
• Pyro Hypostasis
• Emperor of Fire and Iron

There are other World Bosses who drop these crystals, but they typically drop them alongside other crystals in the loot pool, so fighting specifically fire-based bosses will guarantee you always get some Agnidus Agate crystals.

Remember, you can always transmute crystals you have of other elements to the one you need using the crafting bench. If you have a surplus of Anemo-attuned crystals, you can switch them over to be Pyro-aligned, which will save you spending resin on bosses just for the crystal drop.
