Fortnite Gift Refund: Can I Refund a Gift in Fortnite?

One of Fortnite’s biggest draws is its customization options. Players can purchase, or earn, different skins, harvesting tools, and even emotes.

However, all of this can cost a lot of money, and inevitably, some players do go a little overboard. Alternatively, other players may gift an item that they didn’t intend to.

So, can you refund a gift in Fortnite? Here’s what you need to know.

Can I Refund a Gift in Fortnite?

The short answer to this question is no, you cannot refund a gift in Fortnite. This is pretty disappointing to hear, and many players have been left wondering why a refund feature hasn’t featured yet. Battle passes, subscriptions, gifts cannot be refunded but you may submit a ticket for special considerations.

Some have tried to find a refund loophole. To do this, they purchased a single item, which was available as a bundle, as well as the bundle itself.

The hope was that this double purchase would allow the player to refund the single item. Unfortunately, this proved unsuccessful, proving that refunds of any kind are unavailable in Fortnite.

However, it’s likely that we will see some kind of refund system in Fortnite soon enough. Many players have been crying out for a refund feature, and Epic Games has always listened to and acted upon feedback very well. So don’t be surprised if we see refunds in Fortnite soon enough.

How Do Gifts Work?

Gifting allows players to send various cosmetic items to their friends. Currently, players are unable to gift certain items, such as V-Bucks, for safety reasons. Luckily, most cosmetics can be gifted. Here’s how you can gift a skin or other cosmetic items to a friend in Fortnite:

• Head to the Fortnite Store and click on the item that you’d like to purchase.
• After you’ve clicked on the item, select ‘Buy as Gift Item’. This option should be just under the Yellow purchase section.
• Once you’ve purchased the item, you’ll be able to select to who you’d like to send the gift.
• Confirm your purchase. The selected recipient will have access to their new item as soon as they log into the game.

As you can see, it’s very easy to gift an item in Fortnite. Just make sure you click the Buy as a Gift option, or you won’t be able to gift the skin to a friend.

Can you refund skins that were gifted to you?

Unfortunately – you cannot refund gifts that were gifted to you, though it may be worth discussing this matter with Fortnite Support – though it’s likely the original person who bought the gift will be entitled to this refund, not the one receiving it!

What refunds does Fortnite allow?

Whilst we know that non-refundable Gifts are probably very frustrating, is there anything Fortnite does allow refunds for? Well, yes, in fact there is.

Fortnite allows players to return or refund items purchased with V-Bucks. However, not all items are returnable with Level Up Quest Packs being the notable exception.
