Despite fears that EA Sports FC 24 licences would be reduced after the split from FIFA, EA has a huge portfolio to build from for their upcoming game. There will also be additions to the title, with several major partnerships newly confirmed and plenty remaining from the FIFA days.

Konami’s eFootball already has multiple exclusive club and league licenses, but what will EA be able to secure for themselves ahead of the EA Sports FC 24 release date? Check out all the confirmed licences for FC 24 below.

The EA x FIFA split is old news now, and according to EA, very little will change with the licences in place from previous games! “Everything you love about our games will be part of EA SPORTS FC – the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes will be there. Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football will all be there,” reads the official statement.

“Our unique licensing portfolio of more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues that we’ve continued to invest in for decades will still be there, uniquely in EA SPORTS FC. That includes exclusive partnerships with the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the MLS – and more to come.” More to come. Those are the key words. What new licences can EA secure? Will we see new national teams? Will we finally see real players populate the Brazilian league? Only time will tell.

What licences are in EA Sports FC 24?

As mentioned above, EA has already eased concerns that major licences would be lost in the aftermath of their fallout with FIFA. On the official EA Sports FC website there is confirmation of a host of leagues and club competitions that will feature in the game.

The Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A, and Ligue 1 will all be available, meaning EA has all five major European football leagues. Continuing the European monopoly, EA Sports FC 24 will also feature the Champions League, Europe League, and Europa Conference League.

Fans of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo need not fear either despite their recent transfers. Both the MLS and Saudi Pro League will be available in the game and could offer some incredible options in Ultimate Team.

Some of the highest-profile women’s competitions will also feature in EA Sports FC, including the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The Barclays Women’s Super League will once again be playable, as will leagues from France, Germany, Spain, and the USA.

Wishlist

There are several national teams, leagues, and individual licences that we would love to see added to this year’s game. One key stadium missing from EA’s portfolio is the Spotify Camp Nou, the home of Spanish champions Barcelona. Exclusive to Konami, Barca’s legendary ground officially holds just under 100,000 fans and would be incredible with EA’s Matchday Atmosphere system.

Plenty of national teams were added last season due to the inclusion of the World Cup in FIFA 23. The World Cup will not be available in EA Sports FC after the split with FIFA, leaving the inclusion of certain national teams uncertain. Croatia have been terrific in recent years and are one of many newly added teams that need to stay in the game.

Another blow struck by Konami was the exclusive deal signed with the Mexican Liga MX. Liga MX is exclusively available on eFootball having previously featured in EA’s FIFA titles. The Mexican league might not be top of our wanted list, but it is a warning sign for other leagues!

The Brazilian league is in FIFA, but there are no player likenesses. Getting this sorted would be a huge success for EA, although we don’t hold out much hope. England’s Vanarama National League would be another valuable addition, and after the inclusion of Wrexham last season it could happen.

Leaks

It looks as though the leaks will continue into EA Sports FC 24! FIFA 23 has seen consistent leaks throughout the season, revealing information about promo events and new content, and now they have moved on to the new game.

According to Nickycai on Twitter, EA has secured rights to the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament, meaning it will be on the list of EA Sports FC 24 licences. Next year’s Euros will take place in Germany and should mean special promo events in Ultimate Team as we have seen in the past.

Along with some special in-game content in FUT, the leak also suggests that a whole UEFA Euro 2024 mode will arrive. This will likely come as a DLC as we saw with the World Cup in FIFA 23.

The inclusion of UEFA’s flagship international competition should come as no surprise as the club competitions all feature. Securing the rights to the Euros could see the Nations League included in other areas of the game such as kick-off and career mode.
