Leveling up weapons in Destiny 2 can often be a hard task for most Guardians. Since there are only a limited amount of combatants that spawn in one area, enemy scarcity and the large number of players present are often the main reasons for the added difficulty.

However, there are a few ways on how you can gain experience for your weapons quickly without having to share with anybody else. With that said, we’ll be taking a look at the best ways of leveling up your weapons so you can unlock those sweet God Roll perks. Read on to find out what they are.

Best Way to Level Up Weapons in Destiny 2

• Grasp of Avarice Dungeon (Cosmodrome)
  • The Grasp of Avarice Dungeon is one of the areas you’ll need to complete if you haven’t acquired the Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher yet. Keep in mind, though, that you’ll need the 30th Anniversary Pack in order to access the quest line for this weapon.
  • The best thing about this method is that you’ll immediately be able to find the waves of enemies you’re looking for within the location’s opening area. Typically, your main task here will be to collect and deposit Cursed Engrams at the crystal inside the cave.
  • As long as you don’t deposit these Cursed Engrams, enemies will keep spawning and you’ll be able to keep shooting no matter what. We recommend getting rid of the two Warlocks that spawn first since they’re extremely annoying to deal with otherwise. You also won’t need to worry about dying since respawning will still be enabled within this area.
• NOTE: The XP you gain from killing these enemies only rewards you with half the XP that you would normally get. So if you want to lessen the grind even more, we recommend using the second method.

• Shuro Chi Encounter (Last Wish Raid)
  • The Shuro Chi encounter is a boss battle that’s featured in the Forsaken expansion’s Last Wish Raid. This is universally considered to be one of the best ways to farm weapon XP because of the constant stream of enemies that spawn. We recommend making use of the Hunter Nightstalker subclass for this task because its Shadowshot: Deadfall is incredibly useful in taking down several enemies at once.
  • Before you can make use of this method, you’ll need to make your way to the Wish Wall once you start up the raid. Once you’re there and you’ve entered the correct icons on the wall, you’ll be able to transport yourself to the site of the encounter. Remember to place a rally banner beforehand so you won’t have to repeat the process all over again.
  • As soon as you open the door, the Taken will start trying to attack you. Immediately use your Shadowshot so all of the enemies within will become tethered together. You can then start shooting and most of them will die together because of your Super Ability. Once all of the combatants have been defeated, you can then get yourself killed to repeat the process all over again.

The most important thing to note with the methods mentioned above is that they both require a specific expansion. If you’re a free-to-play user, then you can make use of the following events/playlists instead:

• Dares of Eternity Playlist
  • The Dares of Eternity playlist is available for all players and does not require a specific campaign to access. But since its a free-for-all, some of the other kills will naturally be taken by other Guardians. However, it’s still a great option if you aren’t willing to spend money on expansions, especially since it contains three encounters and clearing each one grants weapon XP.
• Sorrow’s Harbor (Moon)
  • Sorrow’s Harbor is another viable option for free-to-play users as a constant stream of enemies spawn at the Altar of Sorrows. Again, this method is slightly hindered by the fact that there are other players present at the site of the encounter. Nevertheless, this is a location where you can get valuable XP since most of the enemies are typically easy to take down using your weapon.

Most of the best ways to level your weapons up typically include purchasing an expansion or two. However, there are still some available options for those that aren’t willing to spend on these campaigns. But no matter which one you choose, there will inevitably be a slight grind so everyone ends up in the same boat.
