Luckily, they won’t have to wait too long to do so, and there’s even the perks of early access for those who opt for the game’s special edition too. Let’s break it down.
When is the Baldur’s Gate 3 PS5 early access release date?
The PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will get early access from September 2, 2023 as long as they’ve opted for the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition.
Those who are getting the standard version of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 will be able to play on the game’s console release date of September 6, 2023.

You’ll be able to start downloading the game on PS5 a little earlier, so you can ensure the game’s on your console and ready to go come the release date. For early access, you can preload from August 31 at 4 pm UTC (5 pm UK time).

If you’re opting for the game’s standard edition, you’ll be able to begin preloading from September 4 at 4 pm UTC (5 pm UK Time).

While we’re yet to get a confirmation from Larian on the final size of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5, we’re expecting it to be a big one. The game is over 100GB on PC, and we’ve been told BG3 will be keeping patch parity with the PC version – so be ready to clear a lot of space on your console’s hard drive. Note that the game also arrives with the first patch in tow.
