Looking for Baldur’s Gate 3 mods? Previous titles from Larian Studios have had the good fortune of impressive mod support from the community. This augmented their excellent stories with even more content for RPG players to enjoy. It’s no surprise that Dungeons & Dragons fans want Baldur’s Gate 3 to have that level of modding possibilities.

While the existing Baldur’s Gate 3 classes and subclasses like Fighters, Rogues, and Rangers are great, what if you could get wings? And what if you could add ogres to Baldur’s Gate 3 races and subraces like the Dwarves, the Drow, and the Half-elf? The potential is endless for an RPG of this scope. Read on to know if Baldur’s Gate 3 has mod support.

Does Baldur’s Gate 3 have mods?

Yes, Baldur’s Gate 3 has mods. What’s really impressive is that creators and the community began work on mods and new features for the Forgotten Realms even before the game came out of Early Access. Prior to the PC launch, there was already incredible variety, with mods ranging from utility boosts to overpowered ones that can break the game the way you want. Now we’re seeing more mods than ever pop up. So what are some of the best?

Here are the top 10 Baldur’s Gate 3 mods that you can check out:

  • Basket Full of Equipment
  • Customizer’s Compendium
  • Devil Wings Definitive Edition (DE)
  • Party Size Extender
  • Mindflayer (Fantastical Minds)

10. Basket Full of Equipment

This mod adds over 500 new armour items, clothes, and gear options. This lets you dress your Baldur’s Gate 3 companions up with brand-new attires that complement their appearances. It’s a massive mod that doesn’t get in the way of your role-playing experience. It can be installed via BG3ModManager, which can be found over at GitHub.

9. Customizer’s Compendium

This mod adds new faces, hairstyles, skins, horns, and other customization options to the game’s dense character creator. While I’d argue that Baldur’s Gate 3 already has an impressive degree of personalization options, the more the better. This adds new options for all the races currently in the Early Access build. Consider Tav’s hair salon mod along with this one.

8. Devil Wings Definitive Edition (DE)

This one’s a personal favourite. Being a Tiefling is cool but devil wings are even more amazing. You can unequip them whenever you want to and soar like a dragon. Using them gives new abilities and new spells like Fly to your character.

7. Party Size Extender

This mod is fantastic. It lets you sidestep the party size limit enforced by the game. This means that you can toss party composition woes to the wind by selecting ‘all of the above.’ While this makes battles rather one-sided, it does make for a jolly good time.

6. Mindflayer (Fantastical Minds)

You get to play as a deadly Mindflayer thanks to this mod. And you even get devastating spells exclusive to this race. It makes for some impressive gameplay opportunities in D&D’s Forgotten Realms setting. Expect the game’s romances to take interesting turns.

5. Arcane Rings

The Arcane Rings mod adds unique Arcane rings with neat spells. While the ones with existing spells are great, stuff like the Ring of Blood Rain and the RIng of Magic Mudpies change the environment in interesting ways. Other rings like the Ring of Feather Fall are great for traversal. This enhances the utility of all classes in general with spells usually reserved for straightforward spellcasters.

4. Casters Extra

This mod adds many new fan-favorite subclasses to the game like Bladesinger and Twilight Domain. It also adds new creatures to the Find Familiar spell. Pseudodragons and Gazers are welcome returns from the D&d world and they fit right in at Baldur’s Gate 3. The creator has done their best to abide by the 5th Edition rules of Dungeons and Dragons.

3. More feats

With 37 feats to pick from, Baldur’s Gate 3 lets you use these powerful buffs in level 4, level 8, and level 12. And this mod amps these buffs up to insane levels. It doesn’t just add new feats like Telekineses. The mod also reworks existing feats to function more like those from its source material (D&D 5th Edition).

2. Legendary Items

This mod adds unique Legendary items to the game. Here are some weapons that you can find in this BG3 mod:

  • Dragon Blade – This sword deals pure fire damage and gives the wielder immunity to fire. You can also channel the fire in the blade to summon the dragon to your aid.
  • Flail of Pain – The flail enables a bonus action that inflicts damage to yourself but then in turn enables a very powerful area attack.
  • Venom – This weapon does extra poison damage and afflicts enemies with poison.
  • Crossbow of Great Range – Extra range and force damage.

1. Level up

While the Baldur’s Gate 3 max level is level 12, the game treats levels differently compared to most RPGs. Each jump brings noticeable buffs, spells, and abilities. Now what if that could be amped up to level 20? This mod does just that, with new spells and abilities. It’s so comprehensive that other mods rely on this one to function properly. You could even multiclass to take advantage of other class spells and features.

Installing BG3 mods

Installing mods in the game is a fairly straightforward process. Just keep track of which file directory your game has been installed in. Here’s how to install mods in Baldur’s Gate 3.

That covers everything we know about Baldur’s Gate 3 mods. We’ll expand and improve our list of the best mods so jump back for the latest. A mod even adds improved UI and additional feats to Baldur’s Gate 3 feats. Now that we’ve crossed the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date, try out some of these mods to spice up your adventure.
