However, when attempting to enter the camp, you’ll find that it’s not all as easy as it seems, and might end up with a pretty tough fight on your hands. That’s why we’re here to help, letting you know how to avoid this fight and get in with no problem.

If you’ve been trying to figure out how to find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3, we’ve got a guide for that. And for those who don’t understand exactly who the Baldur’s Gate 3 Guardian is, we’ve got an explainer guide to take you through it. For now, though, let’s take a look at how to get into the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Where is the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The Goblin Camp is located far west of the Druid Grove. You’ll need to pass through the Blighted Village to get there. On the way there, you’ll find a few goblins lurking around the outside of the camp which you should be able to dispatch with relative ease. Luckily, once you get to the camp itself, you won’t find any hostile enemies, and will be able to walk around freely. If you leave, there’s a fast travel point in the courtyard, too, making it simple to return to in future.

How to enter the Goblin Camp

Once you arrive, there are three ways that you can enter the Goblin Camp. These are:

  • Persuade the guards to let you in
  • Kill all the goblins
  • Sneak in

Persuading the guards

This is easily the best option for entering the Goblin Camp. Head into the camp’s main entrance and walk up to a Worg called Klaw standing with some other goblins near a small outpost.

You’ll automatically start speaking with Klaw’s handler, where you’ll have the chance to persuade him to let you enter. You have a few different ways of convincing him. You can:

  • Intimidation – Tell the goblin you’re a sellsword there to meet with your client. This is a difficult roll, so if you’ve got any bonuses available it’s a good occasion to use them.
  • Deception – Tell the goblin you’re there to meet with his leader.
  • Animal Handling – Compliment the Worg, identifying it’s particular species. This option will also involve smearing feces on your face however, something that certain companions like Astarion will disapprove of.
  • Illithid (Wisdom) – Use the power of your tadpole parasite to dominate the will of the goblin. This is the easiest skill check of all – at a roll of only 2 – but the ability will need to be recharged with a long rest afterwards.
  • Detect Thoughts – This is another of the easier ways to get inside. Once you’ve read is thoughts, tell him your a messenger for the drow Minthara.

We’d recommend going for either Illithid Wisdom if you have it charged, or Detect Thoughts for its low charisma check. Once you’ve convinced him your on buisness for Minthara, you’ll be able to get inside. You can use similar excuses at the large wooden doors to get past the second guard and actually reach Minthara inside the Shattered Sanctum. From here you can align with her evil ambitions, or vaporise her with holy magic like we did.

Kill all the goblins

From the best option to the worst, choosing to kill all the goblins leads to a hectic and challenging fight. Unless you’re at least level 4, you probably won’t stand much chance, and even then, it will be a struggle. You’ll need to prepare by making sure you’ve got optimised each of your companions and their respective classes and subclasses.

When the fighting begins try and take them on in small groups, and make the most of any cover you find around you. AoE and ranged attacks are your friend here, so use them as much as possible. You may also be able to find an ally in Volo, the captured bard that you’ll encounter first back at the Grove and then again at the Goblin Camp as a captive.

Even with allies, it’ll still be an uphill battle. While you can shove lesser goblins around, you’ll have less luck with the clan leaders like Dror Ragzlin, Priestess’ Guts, and Minthara. Facing any one of them is a challenge, but getting into combat with more than one at a time is a nearly insurmountable battle at this early stage of the game. It is worth noting though that they each drop a tadpole, which you can use to upgrade your Illithid powers if you wish.

Lastly, be aware that killing all the goblins also means you won’t have access to any of the merchants or other NPCs that would have by persuading your way in. Basically, unless you’re hell-bent on taking out these goblins, just don’t.

Sneak in

This one isn’t quite as easy as just persuading your way in, but is still far better than killing your way in. Head to the bridge to the west of the Blighted Village and enter stealth. Follow the right-hand path and eventually, you’ll reach a platform with a rope on it. Jump across the river from here, and follow the next path until you find a goblin guard. Sneak attack him to kill him silently and follow the path to the Goblin Camp wall.

From here, look for a goblin called Brawler Tiny and sneak attack him, before climbing up a nearby ladder. Follow the path from here to an area above some sleeping goblins. Carefully jump down without waking them and sneak past them to a fountain with some more sleeping goblins. Kill these goblins silently, and then break the Cracked Wall next to the fountain. Be aware that you can only break it with Bludgeoning and Force damage. Pass through the wall, and you’re in the Shattered Sanctum, bypassing the Goblin Camp. You may still end up needing to fight through some goblins if you’re taking the stealth approach to rescue Halsin, however.

  • The Nightsong. A powerful magical artefact is rumored to lie beneath the ruins of the ancient temple of Selune where the goblins have made their home.
  • The road to Baldur’s Gate. If you want to reach Act 2, one of your paths there is through the Underdark. To access this subterranean area, you can choose to approach from the elevator found within the Goblin Camp.
