Madden 24 Superstar Best Teams by position
In Madden 23, fans had five different positions to choose from when starting their Face of the Franchise career – Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Linebacker, and for the first time, Cornerback. Whether this will be the case for Madden 24’s Superstar mode is still left to be determined. However, we at VideoGamer are predicting that the positional choices won’t be much different if change at all, and might include one new position this year.
Seeing that the five positions from Madden 23 will likely be available in Madden 24, some of you reading this might be after not only what position you will choose, but more importantly, which team you opt to play for. The role you have and playing time it comes with, will determine just how much fun you can have with this game mode. And the more opportunities and playing time you have, the better.
Naturally, this boils down to the position you play, with quarterback being the most popular and involved. But what’s almost just as important, is the positional need of the team you will be playing for. For example, if you want to play quarterback, picking the Chiefs, Bills, or Bengals won’t do you any good because you won’t be outplaying the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Joe Burrow so early on in your career. This is why it’s key to matchup with the best team possible. And the positional need for each team is the biggest indicator you should look out for.
On that note, here’s the best teams for each position you will likely be able to play as in the new Madden 24 Superstar mode.
Quarterback
Here’s our Top 3 Teams we recommend you play for when choosing to be a QB:
Team | Best Current QB |
Atlanta Falcons | Desmond Ridder (70 OVR) |
Washington Commanders | Jacoby Brissett (72 OVR) |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Baker Mayfield (72 OVR) |
What’s great about all of these options is their lack in depth with strong quarterbacks, on top of the fact that all come with robust offensive weapons, from wide receivers to running backs. If you do choose to play quarterback in the new Madden 24 Superstar mode, you can’t go wrong with picking these teams to start with, if that is even an option this year.
Should you decide to pick a team with a better overall rated quarterback or one that has a lot of low-level quality ones, it could take you longer to get the role and playing time you want. So for example, the 49ers are a solid option since Brock Purdy is only a 73 overall. But they also have Sam Darnold and Trey Lance as backups, making for a really crowded group that might be tough to outperform.
Running Back
Here’s our Top 3 Teams we recommend you play for when choosing to be a RB:
Team | Best Current HB |
Minnesota Vikings | Alexander Mattison (76 OVR) |
Arizona Cardinals | James Connor (77 OVR) |
Baltimore Ravens | J.K. Dobbins (78 OVR) |
What’s tough about selecting the running back position is that there’s a lot of teams that either have a star running back already or have duos and trios that have the potential to receive a committee work load. And based on the talent level and positional need for each of these teams, we think that you can’t go wrong with choosing the Vikings, Cardinals, or Ravens.
The Vikings just lost their star man Dalvin Cook, and though Mattison is solid, he’s definitely a back you could outperform. Same goes for James Connor on the Cardinals, who’s a bit past his prime. Though the Ravens like to run RPO plays with quarterback Lamar Jackson and also have Gus Edwards, they are a team that does have room for a star running back, and the ones you would compete with, are 78 overall Dobbins and 77 overall Edwards.
Wide Receiver
Here’s our Top 3 Teams we recommend you play for when deciding to be a WR:
Team | Best Current WR |
Green Bay Packers | Christian Watson (77 OVR) |
Houston Texans | Robert Woods (77 OVR) |
Kansas City Chiefs | Kadarius Toney (81 OVR) |
What’s interesting about playing wide receiver, is that all offenses will usually deploy two if not three at a time, leaving much more room for players to become the number one receiving option, if not, the number two choice in a given season. So despite some wide receiver units having a star wideout, the depth around them isn’t always that strong, which leaves you a lot more choices to pick from should you want to partner with one of the best receivers in the league.
However, if you’re trying to be the number one receiving option in an offense and want as much playing time as possible in Madden 24 Superstar mode, you cannot go wrong with any of these three teams. The Packers, who traded Aaron Rodgers, also lost wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb as well, leaving plenty of space for you to become a number one in their offense.
The Texans have a promising young rookie quarterback in C.J. Stroud but not many great receiving weapons for him, making them a great team to play for. And lastly, if you want a Super Bowl Title and plenty of playing time, the Chiefs don’t have the best group of wide receiver units, allowing you to rise as one of the top receiving options for Mahomes. Though Kelce will be target number one, you could easily become the best wide receiver available for the Chiefs seeing Toney is only an 81 overall and plays in the slot.
Linebacker
Here’s our Top 3 Teams we recommend you play for when choosing to be a LB:
Team | Best Current LB |
Detroit Lions | Jack Campbell (75 OVR) |
Los Angeles Rams | Ernest Jones (75 OVR) |
Washington Commanders | Cody Barton (77 OVR) |
There are three different types of linebacker positions – Middle Linebacker (MLB), Right Outside Linebacker, and Left Outside Linebacker. So depending you want to play as a MLB, ROLB, or LOLB, there’s a lot of teams that you could play for.
However, for the sake of playing time and position need, we feel the Top 3 teams above are the best to choose from. The Lions have frankly not much to work with in their linebacker unit, same goes for the Rams who lost Bobby Wagner over free agency and the Commanders, who lost Cole Holcomb to the Steelers.
Superstar mode is all about trying to make your player as great as he can be, and that’s going to be accomplished with playing time. If there’s too much talent to work with or around, it could complicate things and take you longer to get to where you want to be.
Cornerback
Here’s our Top 3 Teams we recommend you play for when choosing to be a CB:
Team | Best Current CB |
Arizona Cardinals | Marco Wilson (74 OVR) |
Tennessee Titans | Sean Murphy-Bunting (78 OVR) |
New York Giants | Adoree’ Jackson (81 OVR) |
Similarly to that of the wide receiver position, all defensive schemes for every team will require two CBs. And if you want to be the number one CB on your team, these three teams are your best bet. The Cardinals have a very depleted unit, so from a support standpoint, might not be the best choice. That said, it would be the easiest group for you to join and climb the ranks. The Titans have some solid depth, and Murphy-Bunting is the best of the bunch. However, it’s a group with no clear-cut CB1, making for a good team to join.
Lastly, the Giants are a great choice to play for if you want to be a part of a special rebuild. Jackson might start as the number one cornerback but is someone you could outcompete in a matter of game weeks, depending on how you progress. Rookie Deonte Banks poses a bit of a risk when it comes to losing playing time, but is only a 76 overall and would likely become CB3 once you improve your player.
